The Pack / Solstice Session 2024

In this six-week course, participants will jumpstart personal projects in a supportive online community. With meetings scheduled around the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and winter solstice in the southern, we will discuss the extremes of light and shadow in the process of creation.

What does it mean to be visionary? To see in the dark? To see into the future? How do we embrace hidden knowledge in both the process and subject matter of art? From the metaphorical dark night of the soul to the blank page, which ideas get exposed and which go extinct?

Drawing itself is the relationship between light and dark— a polar practice in which the balance of extremes create form. Whether dark on light or light on dark, the visible mark represents a wide spectrum of potential values and visions.

Join us for a multifaceted exploration of drawing both inward and outward. Whether you are newly identifying as an artist or already have a practice in bloom, this solstice session is for you. Members of The Pack develop lasting creative habits through individual experimentation, intuitive goal setting, mindfulness practice, co-working, and accountability.
